Putting the rider before the bicycle

The Concept

When we embarked on the design of the Factor 001, we had a single priority: the needs of the rider would come first.

That single-minded focus made a number of key design decisions very straightforward. The machine would have a conventional riding position, one that top athletes would be both familiar with, and comfortable in, for extended training sessions. It would not, however, be restricted by the need to comply with the design regulations set out by the UCI – the governing body for world cycle sport. This was a very deliberate approach as we wanted nothing to stand in the way of the rider experience. A great deal of energy has been put into producing a new dynamic to the frame and wheel combination - not only does the frame offer stiffness but also compliance in the areas required to give comfort without compromise to performance.
