In designing the chassis for the new machine, we began by analysing exactly what would be required to transform an athlete's power into efficient forward motion.
Only when we had a full understanding of the forces that would be inflicted on the machine's structure did we make any decisions as to materials, form or manufacturing methods.
The basic material for the Factor 001 chassis is carbon-composite, just like an F1 car. Not only is it strong, stiff and light but it's also smart. Load sensors, wiring, control cables and lines for the hydraulic braking system are all fully integrated into the composite during construction, to give unparalleled efficiency and durability with a clean, uncluttered appearance.
